2018 Maruti Swift pre-launch media activities to begin in January
MSIL is gearing up to launch the all-new Maruti Swift early next year. The company will commence pre-launch media activities January 2018 onwards. The 2018 Maruti Swift will replace the current generation that has been on sale in India since August 17, 2011.
The new Maruti Swift is based on Suzuki's HEARTECT platform that also underpins the Dzire, Baleno, and Ignis. It will be powered by the same engines as the current car - 1.2 L K-Series petrol and 1.3 L DDiS diesel. However, this time around, both variants are expected to feature a 5-speed AMT from the regular 5-speed manual transmission option. Apart from the regular petrol and diesel variants, reports indicate that Maruti will also bring the Swift Sport and Swift Hybrid to the Indian market.
The new Swift sports a new look with features like projector headlamps, LED DRLs, C-pillar mounted rear door handle, LED tail lamps, two-tone alloy wheels and more. Inside, the 2018 Maruti Swift promises to be more spacious than the outgoing model. It will also get additional features including the 7-inch Smartplay touchscreen infotainment system.
