Last week, a local report said that Indonesia would source the 2018 Suzuki Ertiga from India initially. However, the fact is that the all-new model is locally manufactured, that too with a very high level of localisation.

The 2018 Suzuki Ertiga is manufactured at the Cikarang Plant in Indonesia.

Suzuki Indomobil Sales’ Head of Marketing Donny Saputra has confirmed that the 2018 Suzuki Ertiga is manufactured at the Cikarang Plant in Indonesia. The second generation model uses 84% locally-made content right from the beginning. Suzuki’s Indonesian subsidiary plans to increase the localisation level to 100%.

The 2018 Suzuki Ertiga is 4,395 mm long, 1,735 mm wide and 1,690 mm high. It has a 2,740 mm wheelbase and a 180 mm ground clearance. It offers 153 litres of luggage space, which is expandable up to 803 litres.

The new generation Suzuki Ertiga is powered by the new K15B 1.5L VVT petrol engine that produces 77 kW (104.7 PS) at 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm. Like the old model’s K14B 1.4L VVT petrol engine, the new engine is linked to a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission. The all-new model has a top speed of 180 km/h (MT)/175 km/h (AT) and a fuel economy rating of 18.06 km/l (MT)/17.36 km/l (AT).

The second-gen Suzuki Ertiga rides on the Heartect platform.
