After months of spy shots, renderings, leaks and media speculation, the 2018 Suzuki Jimny and 2018 Suzuki Jimny Sierra are finally here. YouTube user Mami Amiego has created a walkaround video of the models thoroughly detailing their exterior and interior.

The Suzuki Jimny retains its instantly recognisable no-frills design in its fourth generation. The cabin is contemporary and laden with ample comfort and convenience equipment. Guarding its status of a basic go-anywhere UV is the ladder-frame chassis, the part-time 4WD system with low-range transfer gear and the 3-link rigid axle suspension.

The 2018 Suzuki Jimmy is a JDM 'kei' car. It measures 3,395 mm in length, 1,475 mm in width and 1,725 mm in height. It has a 2,250 mm wheelbase and a 205 mm ground clearance. Under the hood is the R06A 0.66-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine good for 64 PS and 96 Nm.

The 2018 Suzuki Jimny Sierra is the version SMC will extend globally. Not bound by Japanese motor vehicle norms, it gets wheel arch extensions that lend it a wider and more robust look. It is 3,550 mm long, 1,645 mm wide and 1,730 mm high. Its wheelbase is the same (2,250 mm), but its ground clearance is set higher - 210 mm.

The Sierra employs a far more capable newly developed K15B 1.5-litre engine that produces 102 PS and 130 Nm of torque. Transmission choices are common - 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic.

LED headlamps, headlamp washers, 16-inch alloy wheels, KESSY, automatic climate control, cruise control, leather steering wheel, heated front seats and touchscreen infotainment system are the other talking points of the fourth generation Suzuki Jimny.
