2018 Suzuki Swish to be unveiled at Tokyo Motor Show

The 2018 Suzuki Swish will make its world premiere at the Tokyo Motor Show which will be held from 25 October to 5 November.

2018 Suzuki Swish
The design of the scooter is much more aggressive than the previous generation Swish.

The 2018 Suzuki Swish has an all-new bodywork design. It is now much sharper, with angular design elements on the apron. Suzuki has mounted the headlight on the apron, as opposed to the handlebar in the previous generation scooter. The indicators flank the headlight, and it looks like the lighting system is all LED. The tail light and the rear indicator are also neatly integrated into the bodywork. The pillion seat is raised and comes with split grab handles. The pillion footpeg sits flush into the body. The previous generation Swish was discontinued from the Indian market in April, this year.

Expect the 2018 Suzuki Swish to employ a 125cc single cylinder engine that does duty in the Access 125. The SOHC engine makes 8.7 PS at 7,000 rpm and 10.2 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. The engine mates with a CVT gearbox. The Swish features telescopic front forks with gaiters. The rear comes with a single shock absorber.

Suzuki has discontinued the Swish in India.

The wheels are likely to be 10-inch alloys and are shod with what looks like 120-section tyres. For braking, the scooter employs a disc at the front and drum at the rear. The faux air intakes on the handlebar cowl and the apron give the scooter a sporty feel. With the new Suzuki Swish, the company is targeting those who seek easy and agile handling in city traffic for commuting. Expect more details of the scooter at the show.
