2018 Toyota Rush unveiled in Indonesia

Toyota Astra Motor has taken the wraps off the 2018 Toyota Rush in Indonesia. The second generation Rush adopts a more MPV crossover approach in terms of appearance. Prices of the new Toyota Rush will be revealed only in January 2018.

Toyota has unveiled the new Rush in Indonesia. Prices will be announced in January 2018.

The exterior design of the 2018 Toyota Rush borrows heavily from the Daihatsu FT Concept. It features a similar MPV-like silhouette infused with crossover bits like body cladding, raised ride height, and faux underbody protection. It is equipped with LED front and rear lights and a black finish grille.

The TRD Sportivo variant gets a TRD badged scuff plates with red high highlights, 17-inch two-tone alloys wheels, side moulding, black fog lamp frames, and TRD Sportivo lettering on the rear door. Keyless entry is restricted to Toyota Rush TRD Sportivo variants only. There is a lower-spec G trim on offer as well, which features 16-inch alloy wheels and misses out on certain cosmetic enhancements part of the TRD Sportive package.

The cabin of the new Toyota Rush is finished with a combination of black and beige. Soft touch materials have been used on the dashboard. The centre console houses a 7-inch touchscreen AVN with Miracast & Weblink capabilities. The instrument console features blue and white backlighting and a MID housed between the speedometer and tachometer.

The new Rush is 4,435 mm long, 1,695 mm wide, and 1,705 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,685 mm. The 2NR-VE, 4 Cylinder Dual VVT-i petrol engine powering the crossover produces 104 PS and 13.9 kg.m of torque. Toyota Rush G gets a 5-speed manual transmission while the TRD Sportivo variant is equipped with a 4-speed automatic transmission.

The second generation Rush is more MPV like in its appearance. It ditches the rear mounted spare wheel and the bootlid now opens upwards.

As mentioned earlier, prices will be announced in January next year. It is expected to cost around IDR 3 million (~ INR 14,387) more than the outgoing model. The fully loaded 2018 Toyota Rush TRD Sportivo variant could touch IDR 300 million (~INR 1,438,516).
