The Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise ABS has been spied testing in Pune ahead of its launch in India, courtesy PowerDrift. According to a report dated 11 January, the Avenger 220 ABS will cost INR 1.02 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The Avenger 220 ABS range is yet to be officially launched in India.
The Bajaj Avenger 220 ABS range has already started reaching dealerships across India. The Avenger 220 ABS is only around INR 6,700 more expensive as compared to the non-ABS model. A few dealerships across the country have already started accepting pre-bookings for the Avenger 220 ABS, while deliveries are likely to commence by the end of this month.
Similar to the Bajaj Pulsar series, the Avenger 220 range features a single-channel ABS unit to keep the prices competitive. The motorcycle is also equipped with rear-wheel lift protection (RLP) sensor, with the rear wheel getting a disc brake setup. The imminent introduction of ABS is in line with the government's deadline of 1 April 2019.
Powering the Bajaj Avenger 220 is a 220cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled, triple-spark engine that is tuned to develop a maximum power of 19 PS and a peak torque of 17.5 Nm. A five-speed transmission works in sync with the motor that transfers drive to the wheel. Anchorage is provided by disc brakes at both the ends, while telescopic forks and a rear mono-shock perform suspension duties. The cruiser features comfortable ergonomics with a laidback riding posture.
