2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 to launch in India by the end of this month
Dealerships sources have told IAB that the 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 is likely to be launched in India by the end of this month.
A few Bajaj dealerships in Mumbai have started accepting pre-bookings for the new Dominar 400 for a deposit of up to INR 10,000, although the amount may vary at other showrooms. The updated Dominar 400 features a few cosmetic and mechanical upgrades. The most significant change is the introduction of inverted front forks in place of the telescopic units on the outgoing model.
The new Bajaj Dominar 400 will come equipped with a twin-port exhaust canister with a built-in catalytic converter. Earlier this week, a leaked video revealed that the motorcycle will feature revised instrumentation with the primary unit displaying additional info like average fuel economy, instantaneous fuel consumption, service reminder and engine kill-switch on.
The secondary display on the fuel tank will display the gear-position indicator, clock and odometer with two trip meters. A 5 December report suggested that the new Bajaj Dominar 400 will have a refined and more powerful engine with DOHC setup.
Preceding the launch of the updated version, the existing Bajaj Dominar 400 managed to record sales of 170 units in November 2018. The new model will employ the same 373.2 cc liquid-cooled motor that will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Dual-channel ABS and slipper clutch will be standard fitment.
The current model retails at INR 1.63 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), and we expect the 2019 version to carry a premium of up to INR 20,000 with the added equipment. This will lead to an ex-showroom price of around INR 1.80 lakh.
