The Fiat 500X has received a facelift for its MY2019, as reported last month. Here’s a visual comparison of the 2019 Fiat 500X and the 2015 Fiat 500X.

The facelifted Fiat 500X features new light clusters inline with the styling on the facelifted Fiat 500 and facelifted Fiat 500L.

Fiat says the 2019 500X has an “all-new look”, but the mid-cycle update has brought only soft changes. The facelifted Fiat 500X features new full-LED headlights, DRL and LED rear light clusters that are in tune with the latest stylesheet of the 500 family. The new full-LED headlights are 20% brighter than the Xenon headlights of the old model. The Urban version has an all-new front and rear bumper design, while the Cross and City Cross have new-look skid plates.

Inside, the 2019 Fiat 500X has a redone instrument cluster with easier to read graphics and a new Techno-leather steering wheel which is contoured to ensure better positioning of the driver's hand. A new TomTom 3D integrated navigation system is available optionally. Fiat has introduced two new safety systems as standard equipment: Traffic Sign Recognition and Speed Advisor.

The biggest change to the Fiat 500X is the introduction of the next-generation three- and four-cylinder Firefly turbo petrol engines. These engines are Euro 6/D-TEMP compliant and fitted with Gasoline Particle Filter.

The range begins with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder unit that delivers 120 PS and 190 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. Above that, there’s a 1.3-litre four-cylinder unit with 150 PS and 270 Nm of torque, combined with 6-speed DCT dual-clutch automatic transmission. Both engines come in FWD configurations.

As for the three MultiJet II turbo diesel engines with Stop&Start, Fiat has upgraded the SCR to comply with the Euro 6/D-TEMP standard. Their specifications are as follows:

  • 1.3-litre MultiJet II - 95 PS and 200 Nm of torque, 5-speed MT, FWD
  • 1.6-litre MultiJet II - 120 PS and 320 Nm of torque, 6-speed MT or 6-speed DCT, FWD or AWD
  • 2.0-litre MultiJet II - 150 PS and 350 Nm of torque, 9-speed AT, AWD
