2019 Honda Super Cub C125 with new features unveiled
Honda has introduced the new 2019 Honda Super Cub C125 for the global markets. The company showcased the Honda Cub EV concept in India at the Auto Expo 2016; however, the concept has not met production.
Honda will launch the new Super Cub C125 in the international markets in 2019, and price it at around USD 3,600 (INR 2.46 lakh). The Honda Cub has a legacy of over six decades, and the company has sold over 100 million units of the moped. Honda first launched the Super Cub in 1958, and it is the highest-selling motor vehicle in the world.
The 2019 Super Cub 125 features classic styling along with modern technology to stay relevant in the market. The moped is showcased in one colour scheme - Pearl Niltava Blue. The Honda Super Cub continues to feature the step-through design and the classic S-letter silhouette. Its rich legacy has led the company to spawn multiple variants with the most famous being the ‘Red Super Cub’ designed for the Japan Post Service.
The Honda Super Cub C125 features a 125cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled fuel-injected motor that produces 9.5 bhp of power at 7,000 rpm and 10.4 Nm of peak torque at 5,250 rpm. According to Honda, the engine is more fuel efficient and refined, and pairs to a four-speed semi-automatic transmission. The vehicle gets a fuel economy of 66.7 kmpl and a tank range of 245 km. It receives features like LED lights, semi-digital instrument cluster and smart-key technology.
Tadamasa Maeda, large-project leader for Honda Super Cub C125, said -
We know our customers, male or female, take their personal style seriously, and we want our new Super Cub C125 to enrich their lifestyle. Its timeless design expresses value and universality, and we have added a new level of performance to the engine and handling ability to the chassis. Just like it was for our founder, our biggest joy is to play a positive part in daily life – and also put a big smile on the face of every Super Cub owner, whenever and wherever they ride it.

Braking components include a 220 mm front disc brake with two-piston hydraulic callipers and a 110 mm drum brake at the rear, while ABS is standard. Suspension bits include 26 mm telescopic forks up front along with twin shock absorbers at the back. As far as Indian relevance is concerned, Honda is unlikely to launch the Super Cub. This is primarily because of its design and high price of the vehicle.
