2019 Husqvarna 701 Supermoto And Husqvarna 701 Enduro revealed

The model year 2019 Husqvarna 701 Supermoto and 701 Enduro have been officially revealed. The two new models are aimed to offer usability for most of all riding conditions, ranging from daily commuting to adrenaline-filled on or off-road adventures.

Between the 2019 Husqvarna 701 Supermoto and 701 Enduro, the former is relatively road biased and thus features soft compound tyres. The latter, as the name suggests, is meant for the beaten path.

Among the two, the 2019 Husqvarna 701 Supermoto is more road-focused, a character that is evident from the soft compound tires and equal diameter of the wheels. The massive ground clearance, along with the wire-spoke wheels and a tall front fender, brings a rugged look to the motorcycle.

The 2019 Husqvarna 701 Supermoto is powered by a single cylinder engine. The motorcycle is aimed to offer agility, manoeuvrability and maximum power. It is built around a lightweight trellis frame and weighs 319.7 lb (145 kg). The 13-litre fuel tank is integrated into the subframe. The low kerb weight, along with a 692.7cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke engine that makes 74 hp, gives the bike a healthy power-to-weight ratio.

The motorcycle rides on WP-sourced 48 mm (diameter) upside down telescopic front forks with 215 mm wheel travel and a WP rear monoshock with 250 mm wheel travel. A 320 mm single disc brake with a Brembo-sourced four-piston radial fixed calliper is tasked to slow down the front wheel. At the rear, there is a 240 mm single disc that is grabbed by a Brembo-sourced single-piston floating calliper. The brakes are aided by a Bosch-sourced ABS unit.

The 2019 Husqvarna 701 Enduro features a near identical styling and the equipment list looks similar to the Supermoto variant. However, the former is more off-road ready than the latter and comes equipped with dual-purpose tires and a larger front wheel. The race-bred suspension on both ends are sourced from WP but they get even more wheel travel. Contrary to the Supermoto’s 215 mm and 250 mm wheel travel at front and rear respectively, the Enduro offers a 275mm of wheel travel on both wheels. Braking duties are courtesy of a 300 mm single disc rotor with Brembo-sourced twin-piston floating calliper at the front and 240mm unit with Brembo-sourced single-piston floating calliper at the rear.

Both motorcycles could be further customised with a range of optional accessories that are available on Husqvarna's website.
