The Versys 1000 is accompanied by the Ninja 1000 in the litre-class tourer segment of the Indian market. While the Ninja 1000 is a sports tourer, the Versys 1000 gets the styling of an adventure model. In terms of rivals, the Versys 1000 would lock horns against the Triumph Tiger 800 XR, Honda Africa Twin, Suzuki V-Strom 1000 and the Ducati Multistrada 950. All models mentioned above come with a bigger front wheel for enhanced off-road prowess. The Kawasaki Versys 1000, on the other hand, gets 17-inch wheels on both ends and is mainly focused on tarmac riding.
