The KTM 1290 Super Duke GT offers relatively relaxed riding ergonomics compared to the Super Duke R.

The 2019 KTM 1290 Super Duke GT features the same design philosophy as the 2018 Super Duke R. This explains the carry-over of the fang-like headlight design onto this motorcycle. The test mule features a taller windscreen than the current generation bike, and the quarter fairing gets a slight redesign towards the lower portion. As per the website, the 2019 model is likely to feature a quick shifter with an auto blipper as standard. The instrument cluster is likely to feature a new display unit that does duty in the new 1290 Super Adventure models. Expect Bluetooth connectivity via KTM MyRide to be a standard fitment.

There may also be a Touring mode to enhance its touring capabilities. While the engine looks similar to the current generation motorcycle, the media site reports that it has undergone some slight tuning. Since the Euro V emission norms come into effect in 2020, it is likely that the engine will be ready to meet the stricter regulations. The current generation motor puts out 173 PS of power, and 114 Nm of torque at just 3,250 rpm. The service interval stands at a whopping 15,000 km.

Akin to the 2018 model, the cycle parts include WP semi-active upside down front fork and a WP semi-active rear monoshock. Brakes include 320 mm dual front discs with radial calliper and a single rear 240 mm disc. While the current generation bike costs GBP 16,299 recommended retail (RRP), the website reports that the 2019 model will be under GBP 17,000.
