Maruti Suzuki has launched the 2019 Baleno, with prices ranging from INR 5.45-8.77 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The starting price of the facelifted model is higher than that of the Hyundai i20, which costs INR 5.43 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) onwards.

LED projector headlamps and 16-inch precision-cut alloy wheels give the Baleno a better road presence.

The 2019 Maruti Baleno features subtle visual refreshes, such as a new upper grille, sportier front bumper, new lower air intake, repositioned front fog lamps, 16-inch precision-cut alloy wheels, new black and navy blue two-tone fabric seats and new interior ornamentation. The two new exterior colour choices are Phoenix Red and Magma Grey.

LED projector headlamps have replaced the HID projector headlamps, while the 2019 Maruti WagonR’s SmartPlay Studio infotainment system has replaced the SmartPlay unit. Projector headlamps that were previously reserved to the range-topping Alpha grade are now included in the Delta and Zeta grades. Touchscreen infotainment system also is no longer exclusive to the Alpha grade, as Maruti Suzuki offers it in the Zeta grade as well now.

Improvements in the safety department are observed. Maruti Suzuki has made reverse parking standard and introduced co-driver SBR and speed alert system. Both additions are included in all the grades. ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child-seat anchorages, seatbelt pre-tensioners with force limiters and dual-front airbags were already standard.

The 2019 Maruti Baleno features a new dual-tone interior and the new WagonR's SmartPlay Studio infotainment system.

Maruti Suzuki hasn’t announced mechanical changes for the Baleno. The K12M 1.2L VVT petrol and D13A 1.3L DDiS 190 diesel engines continue in their original form and are available with a 5-speed MT or a CVT (petrol engine-only).

The company has pulled down the RS variant powered by the Japan-made K10C 1.0L Boosterjet petrol engine from its website. This variant wasn’t a big seller, and maybe it’s exiting the market.
