2019 Nissan Murano vs. 2014 Nissan Murano - Old vs. New
The third generation Nissan Murano that was introduced in early 2014 has received a facelift. Here’s how the models differ visually.
With the mid-cycle update, the Nissan Murano has received minor exterior revisions and an enhanced interior. The mid-size SUV features a more pronounced V-motion grille, redesigned LED headlights and taillights, new LED fog lights and new 18-inch and 20-inch alloy wheels. Sunset Drift Chromaflair, Mocha Almond Pearl and Deep Blue Pearl are the new body colours.
Inside, the family-focused SUV has new semi-aniline leather-appointed seats with diamond-quilted inserts, contrasting micro-piping trim for the seats, door armrests and centre console lid and three new interior trim finishers: Dark Wood-Tone, Light Wood-Tone and Metallic.
Safety levels go up, thanks to the addition of Rear Door Alert (RDA) for reminding the driver to check the rear seats and Intelligent Driver Alertness to warn about drowsy and inattentive driving and suggesting a break as the solution.
More importantly, Nissan has introduced the Safety Shield 360 suite of six advanced active safety and driver-assist technologies, some of which were available in the old model. It comprises Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), High Beam Assist (HBA) and Rear Automatic Braking.
The new Murano has retained the standard VQ35DE 3.5-litre petrol engine coupled to the XTronic CVT. The naturally aspirated V6 engine produces 260 hp at 6,000 rpm and 240 lb.-ft. (325.40 Nm) of torque at 4,400 rpm.
