Spy shots have shown for a while now that Porsche is working on giving the Porsche Macan a mid-cycle refresh. IAB can now reveal that the 2019 Porsche Macan (facelift) will arrive in the fourth quarter of this year.

The new Porsche Macan (facelift) will have subtle exterior changes.

Like any other Porsche, the Porsche Macan will have subtle revisions in the facelifted model. Recent spy shots suggest that the new Porsche Macan will feature redesigned lower air intake and lower front bumper and tweaked four-point LED headlamps. It could have newly designed wheels and tweaked tail lamps connected via a reflector strip as well. No major interior changes are expected.

Moving inside, the Porsche Macan is expected to gain two 7-inch displays to the left and right of the tachometer, a 12.3-inch touchscreen display for the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) infotainment system and touch-sensitive buttons — all borrowed from the latest Porsche Panamera.

Porsche has planned some mechanical changes as well. The current Porsche Macan is available with 2.0-litre turbocharged, 3.0-litre twin-turbo and 3.6-litre twin-turbo petrol engines. Reports say that the company will replace the 3.0-litre and 3.6-litre petrol engines with more advanced 3.0-litre and 2.9-litre petrol engines respectively.

Porsche no longer offers a diesel engine in the current Porsche Macan. The facelifted Porsche Macan range also will lack a diesel engine model. Instead of a conventional diesel engine, buyers will get an option to go for a petrol-electric plug-in hybrid system borrowed from the Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid.

The 2019 Porsche Macan could go on sale in Europe towards the end of this year or early next year. In either case, deliveries in India will likely commence only next year.
