Along with the debut’s announcement, Toyota has also released a teaser of the 2019 Toyota Avalon. The teaser image hints angular headlamps with LED DRLs, an aggressive grille layout and an overall much sportier design for the Toyota Avalon. Spy shots have shown that the full-size sedan will undergo a complete revamp and look notably different from the current model.

Moving to its fifth generation, the Toyota Avalon will switch to the TNGA platform. The new modular platform debuted with the Toyota Prius and underpins the Toyota C-HR and Toyota Camry as well. Reports say that Toyota is likely to offer the 2019 Toyota Avalon with inline four-cylinder and V6 petrol engines. The redesigned Avalon range should include a hybrid variant as well. The current Avalon is available only with 3.5-litre V6 petrol and 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol-electric (hybrid) options.
