2019 Toyota Glanza interior leaked ahead of 6 June launch
Last week, IAB reported that the Toyota Glanza has started reaching dealerships ahead of its launch on 6 June 2019. Now, its fresh images have surfaced online, and some of them give the first look at its interior.
As expected, the latest images suggest striking similarities between the interior of the Toyota Glanza and the Maruti Baleno. The interior is even closer to that of the donor car than the exterior. The spy shots show the same dashboard, instrument panel, air-con vents and infotainment system in the rebadged car. The only visible difference is the Toyota logo on the steering wheel. On the outside, the Toyota Glanza is differentiated from the Maruti Baleno with a unique radiator grille with two horizontal chrome slats and the different branding on that grille, the centre caps of the alloy wheels and the tailgate. This has been done to keep the development and production costs in check.
In terms of mechanicals, the Toyota Glanza will be powered by the K12M 1.2L VVT petrol engine as standard. This naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine churns out 61 kW (82.94 PS) at 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm. As in the Maruti Baleno, customers may get to select from a 5-speed manual transmission and a CVT. In that case, expect the fuel economy rating to be 21.01 km/l (MT)/19.56 km/l (CVT).

As per our earlier reports, Maruti Suzuki has dispatched 364 units of the Toyota Glanza in the first lot to Toyota Kirloskar Motor. The Toyota Glanza will go on sale on 6 June 2019. It will be available in only two trims, namely G and V, which will be based on Maruti Baleno's Zeta and Alpha grades respectively.
