The clearest images yet of the upcoming 2019 Yamaha Xabre 150 facelift (Yamaha M-Slaz facelift) have come from Indonesia, courtesy Iwanbanaran. As reported last week, the 2019 Xabre will possibly receive mechanical upgrades along with design changes.

The 2019 Yamaha Xabre 150 features a mature design with a lowered tail section, revised headlamp cluster, and redesigned fuel tank with extensions.

The latest spy media shows the 2019 Yamaha Xabre 150 with a mature design, similar to the Yamaha MT-09. Unlike the awkwardly high tail section on the current-gen Yamaha M-Slaz (Xabre 150), the test mule features a lowered tail with single-piece seat, redesigned fuel tank with extended tank shrouds, radiator cover, and a new ‘dragonfly-like’ LED headlamp cluster with bug-eyed LED pilot lamps. Drawing from the spy media, here's a rendering of the upcoming 2019 Yamaha Xabre 150.

According to Indonesian media reports, the company will rechristen the Xabre 150 as the Yamaha MT-15. Earlier reports from Iwanbanaran claimed the test mule to be the 2019 Yamaha MT-25, but the overall compact design leads us to believe otherwise. The Yamaha Xabre 150 (Yamaha M-Slaz) is the naked streetfighter version of the 2019 Yamaha R15. The mature design of the bike will make it worthy of the MT-series brand name.

The 2019 Yamaha Xabre 150 is likely to share the new 155 cc motor with VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) and slipper clutch, from the new R15 V3.0. Adding fuel to this speculation is the presence of the R15 V3.0's exhaust system on the test bike. On the R15, the 155 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel injected engine produces 19 bhp of power and 14.8 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

That said, the current generation Yamaha Xabre 150 (Yamaha M-Slaz) sources power from a 149 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, four-valve, FI engine that works in sync with a 6-speed transmission. The motor is capable of generating 16 bhp of maximum power at 8,500 rpm along with a peak torque of 14.3 Nm at 7,500 rpm.

The current-gen Yamaha Xabre 150 features 37 mm upside-down front forks and an adjustable mono-shock at the back. Stopping power is provided by a 267 mm front rotor and a 220 mm rear disc set-up with radially mounted brake callipers. The motorcycle comes equipped with 17-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels that wrap with 110-section front and 130-section rear tubeless tires from IRC.

The 2019 Yamaha Xabre 150 could launch as the Yamaha MT-15 in Indonesia before the end of this year.

The current-gen Indonesia-spec Yamaha Xabre 150 costs IDR 30.70 million (INR 1,47,542.39) on the road in Jakarta. The motorcycle has a fuel tank capacity of 10.2 litres, while it tips the scales at 135 kg kerb. The Xabre 150 (Yamaha M-Slaz) receives a ground clearance of 164 mm along with a seat height of 805 mm.
