Using the details revealed by the first spy shots of the next-gen 2020 Honda City, IAB's digital artist Shoeb Kalania has come up with a rendering to show how its exterior would look like.

The next-gen Honda City's cabin will be far more plusher, and feature-rich compared to the model its replaces.

The current-gen Honda City has started showing its age now. It has been on sale since November 2013 and a major overhaul which breathes a new life is much awaited.

The 2020 Honda City's exterior could look similar to that of the latest Honda Accord, particularly at the front. The rendering shows it fully transformed into a completely new model and its up-sized dimensions. The front fascia has been revamped thanks to the use of new wider wraparound headlamps and redesigned front bumper. Also, the front grille is much larger. A thick chrome slat on top stretches across the front-width. A sharp shoulder line extends from the front fender to the tail lamps, making the profile look bold. At the rear, expect new tail lamp design and redesigned bumper and tailgate.

Expect the next-gen Honda City's cabin to be far plusher and feature-rich compared to that of the model it replaces. Also, it will have a number of modern connectivity features which will up its ante a notch higher.

In terms of mechanicals, the next-gen Honda City will feature two expected engine options, a BS-VI 1.5L i-VTEC petrol engine and 1.5L i-DTEC diesel engine. These engines will be mated to a standard manual transmission or an optional CVT. To give a proper competition to the Maruti Ciaz, there will be a mild-hybrid system on offer. The international-spec next-gen Honda City will be available in a full-hybrid variant as well.

The next-gen Honda City will also have a mild-hybrid powertrain on offer.
