Thar 2020
The 2020 Mahindra Thar will feature a multi-function steering wheel, front power windows and maybe even a touchscreen infotainment system.

The 2020 Mahindra Thar will feature a redesigned all-black dashboard. Also new will be its digital-analogue instrument panel replacing the current three-pod piece. The new panel comes with a big MID placed between the dials. The second-gen model will also have a multi-function steering wheel. The latest spy shots show provision for a new infotainment system. The round AC vents seem similar to those of the outgoing model, but there are new AC control dials with silver outline. The passenger grab-handle is now completely redesigned and has been repositioned too. The seats come finished in all-black and also carry contrast stitching. The interiors of all-new Mahindra Thar looks plush, as the company has upped the comfort and luxury quotient inside the cabin, which gets a more mature all-black theme.

The 2020 Mahindra Thar is said to be built on an updated ladder-frame chassis, which will underpin even the next-gen Mahindra Scorpio. Thanks to the new frame, the upcoming next-gen Thar will likely be longer and wider than the outgoing model. Two different roof options are also planned. Under the hood, the next-gen Mahindra Thar will carry major mechanical changes as it will deploy an all-new 2.0-litre diesel engine. This engine will be tuned to deliver 140 PS and a peak torque of 300 Nm. It will be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.
