2020 Maruti Vitara Brezza (facelift) - IAB Rendering

The Maruti Vitara Brezza was launched in India in February 2016, and Indian customers have given a historic reception to Maruti's first compact SUV with the 3 lakh sales milestone achieved in record time (28 months).

Maruti Suzuki could offer the 2020 Vitara Brezza with projector LED headlights and new grille among other changes.

IAB’s automotive illustrator Shoeb Kalania has created a rendering to help speculate the possible visual changes when it's time for its mid-life refreshment.

The 2020 Maruti Vitara Brezza will likely have most exterior changes at the front. The rendering shows a new radiator grille with six vertical slats, as well as small revisions to the lower air intake and a claw-like black inserts on the bumper’s corners to raise the SUV’s assertiveness, borrowed from the new Vitara. Maruti Suzuki could introduce LED projector headlights with the facelift. On the sides, the updated model would have new alloy wheels. At the rear, we expect tweaked LED tail lights with improved visibility and new reflectors on the bumper.

The new Maruti Vitara Brezza is unlikely to have an overhauled cabin. Just back in May, Maruti introduced an all-black colour scheme and all-black seats to increase the sportiness and new IP and door trim finish to add to the glamour. It also enhanced the safety by making seat belts with pretensioner and force limiter, ABS with EBD and passenger-side front airbag standard. The MY2020 update could bring a revised instrument panel with new trim and a colour MID with big changes reserved for the second generation vehicle.

The current Maruti Vitara Brezza is available with only the D13A 1.3-litre diesel engine. The facelifted Maruti Vitara Brezza could come with the newly-developed K15B 1.5-litre petrol engine producing around 104.7 PS and 138 Nm of torque, as well as an all-new ‘E15A’ 1.5-litre diesel engine as a replacement for the D13A unit. The latter is still under development.

The 2020 Maruti Vitara Brezza could arrive in the second half of 2019 or in early 2020. In the first half of the year, Maruti Suzuki will reportedly roll out a mid-cycle update for the Baleno.
