4,000+ units of Toyota Yaris sedan dispatched to dealerships

Earlier this month, sales data revealed that 1,585 units of Toyota Yaris sedan were dispatched to dealerships in April 2018. Today, Toyota Kirloskar Motor announced that it dispatched more than 4,000 units by the end of May 2018.

TKM has received close to 60,000+ customer enquiries for the Toyota Yaris.

TKM sold 13,113 vehicles in the domestic market in May 2018, 20% higher than in May 2017 (10,914 units). The Toyota Yaris was a significant contributor to the sales growth. TKM has received close to 60,000+ customer enquiries for the new sedan, which was launched on the 18th of May.

The Yaris measures 4,425 mm in length, 1,730 mm in width and 1,495 mm in height. It has a 2,550 mm wheelbase and a 165 mm ground clearance. It offers 476 litres of boot space. Powering the sedan is Toyota’s 2NR-FE engine. The 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine develops 79 kW (107 PS) at 6,000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm. A 6-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission routes power to the wheels. The fuel economy is rated (ARAI) at 17.1 km/l (MT)/17.8 km/l (CVT).

The Toyota Yaris comes with 11 first-in-segment features such as roof-mounted air vents with ambient illumination, (8-way) power driver seat, (7-inch touchscreen) infotainment system with gesture control, 60:40 split rear seats, adjustable rear centre headrest and more. Other highlights include projector headlamps with LED line guide, LED DRLs, 15-inch alloy wheels, LED rear combination lamps with LED line guide, passive keyless entry and engine start-stop button.

The Toyota Yaris is equipped with many safety features, a number of which are segment-first. These include 7 airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Hill Start Assist control (HSA), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), front parking sensors, rear parking sensors, reverse camera and ABS with EBD and BA.

The Toyota Yaris comes with 11 first-in-segment features.

The Toyota Yaris is available in J, G, V and VX grades. It competes with the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Ciaz, VW Vento and Skoda Rapid. Its prices start at INR 8.75 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and go up to INR 14.07 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
