5 things we know about the production Lexus LF-LC - IAB Picks
Won't be a successor to the Lexus LF-A.
Lexus is finally putting the Lexus LF-LC concept into production following its last unveiling in 2012. Here are 5 things we know about the production Lexus LF-LC.
Name and Model Range
The Lexus LF-LC Blue concept's production version is reported to be named 'Lexus LC 500'. The range will include two models - LC 500 and LC 500h.
Design & Style
Spyshots of alleged production test mules indicated that the design and styling of the Lexus LF-LC concept's production version will be very closely matched. The most recent spy shots have revealed L shaped tail lamps with vertically positioned turn signals on the sides.
Platform
Reports suggest that the Lexus LF-LC concept's production version won't be completely based on the new TNGA (Toyota new global architecture) modular platform. The rear section will be incorporated from the new modular platform, but there will be an addition of an aluminum space frame setup at the front.
Powertrain
It has been reported that the Lexus LF-LC' production version will be available with both combustion engine as well as a hybrid system. The base LC 500 will be powered by the 2UR-GSE 5.0-litre naturally aspirated V8 petrol engine of the Lexus RC F and Lexus GS F. The LC 500h will have 3.5-litre V6 ‘multi-hybrid’ system with a system output of 239 kW (320 hp). The electric motor individually will be capable of 162 kW (217 hp). Common to both models, could be a 10-speed automatic transmission sourced from Aisin.
