Access 125 & Burgman Street 125 fuel Suzuki's new record sales

Suzuki Motorcycle India posted its highest domestic sales in August 2018, registering a Year-On-Year growth of 31% over the corresponding month last year. The Indian arm of the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer sold 62,446 units during the month in the domestic market. The cumulative sales (Domestic and Exports) during August 2018 were recorded at 70,067 units.

Launched in July 2018, the new Suzuki Burgman Street 125 has been priced at INR 68,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).

The record-breaking sales were fueled by the strong performance of its 125cc premium scooters, the Access 125 and the newly launched Burgman Street 125. Of the 62,446 units that were sold in August 2018 in the domestic market, the Access 125 and the Burgman Street 125 accounted for more than 55,000 units.

The two-wheeler brand sold a total of 2,67,888 units during April-August 2018 in the domestic market, registering an overall growth of 41% during FY 2018-19. The domestic and export sales for April-August 2018 were recorded at 2,98,975 units, registering a growth of 34% over the corresponding period last year. With the promising performance expected to continue during the festive season, Suzuki Motorcycle India targets an annual sale of 7,00,000 units for the FY 2018-19.

The premium price tag of the Burgman brings a long list of features which includes a full LED headlight, digital instrument console, spacious storage (21.5 litre), disc brake with combined braking system (CBS) and tubeless tyres. The scooter also features a flexible foot-position which is aimed to reduce fatigue and offer best in class riding experience.

The Burgman Street 125 is available in three colours – Metallic Mat Fibroin Gray, Glass sparkle black and Pearl Mirage White.

Priced at INR 58,980 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the CBS equipped Suzuki Access 125 was launched in India in June 2018. Apart from the safety net of CBS, the retro-styled scooter also received new colour option for the Suzuki Access 125 Special Edition – Metallic Sonic Silver with beige coloured leatherette seat. Other features on the Access 125 (standard) include spacious under-seat storage, long seat, large floorboard, a front pocket and an optional DC socket.

The Access 125 CBS is available in six colours – Pearl Suzuki Deep Blue, Candy Sonoma Red, Glass Sparkle Black, Metallic Fibroin Gray, Metallic Sonic Silver and Pearl Mirage White.

Priced at INR 58,980 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the CBS equipped Suzuki Access 125 was launched in India in June.

Both the scooters use the same 124 cc, single cylinder, SOHC 2-valve engine that is tuned to produce 8.7PS of maximum power @ 7000 rpm and 10.2 Nm of peak torque @ 5000 rpm. The engine is mated to a CVT gearbox.
