2019 Hyundai Grand i10 Nios revealed, pre-bookings open
The all-new next-gen Hyundai Grand i10 has been officially revealed. Along with updated looks and features, it brings along the 'Nios' suffix. The company says that 'Nios' denotes 'more' which has been the basic mantra behind the making of the third-gen model. It will offer more space, features and performance. It is set to be launched in India on 20 August, 2019.
In terms of exteriors, the all-new Hyundai Grand i10 Nios comes with a host of changes. The front-end comprises sleeker, projector headlamps that look fluidic and more aggressive, bigger and more expressive Cascading Grille with boomerang styled LED DRLs on its edges, redesigned hood with gets aggressively styled creases and sportier bumper with vertical fog lamp housing. On the sides, the beltline rises towards the rear at a greater degree, giving a sportier look to the profile with the resulting sleeker greenhouse. Of course, there are new dual-tone alloy wheels as well.
The interior design of the 2019 Hyundai Grand i10 Nios clearly sets the bar in the A-segment. The dashboard has an all-new design and looks much more contemporary now, the steering wheel looks more compact and is designed on the lines of that of Hyundai's bigger global models, the outer-end air vents sport a turbine-like design, the central air vents have been integrated into a single panel and adopted rectangular shape and the infotainment system is a new unit with a bigger, reportedly 8-inch display that sits higher and in an upright position for better visibility.
The instrument cluster, unlike in the second-gen model, is a semi-digital unit, and that's another highlight when it comes to features. The infotainment system is now sort of merged with the instrument panel in a style that is becoming typical of luxury cars ever since Mercedes-Benz introduced the dual-display setup in its sixth-gen S-Class in 2013. The combination of white and black colours for the cabin makes the interior even more appealing.
Hyundai is yet to release the specifications of the Grand i10 Nios, but reports say that BS-VI 1.2L Kappa petrol and BS-VI 1.2L U2 CRDi diesel will be the engine options at launch. 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual will be the transmission choices. There's also rumour of a 1.0L T-GDI petrol engine-7-speed DCT combo, but we doubt that will be a part of the launch.
