Aprilia RSV4 RF showcased at Thai Motor Expo

The Aprilia RSV4 project which began back in 2009, has helped Aprilia win numerous WSBK titles and carve out a niche for the Piaggio owned brand in the litre-class superbike market. At the ongoing Thai Motor Expo, the Aprilia RSV4 RF, a limited edition version of the RSV4, is on display.

At the heart of the Aprilia RSV4 RF is a 999.6 cc longitudinal 65 degree V4 engine which is capable of producing 201 PS of maximum power at 13,000 rpm and 115 Nm of peak torque at 10,500 rpm. The gearbox is a 6 speed cassette type unit with Aprilia Quick Shift electronic system. The limited edition motorcycle gets APRC (Aprilia Performance Ride Control) system which includes Traction Control (ATC), Wheelie Control (AWC), Launch Control (ALC). All of these can be configured and deactivated independently.

The Aprilia RSV4 RF is suspended over Ohlins front forks with adjustable spring preload and hydraulic compression, and rebound damping. The rear gets an Ohlins racing mono shock with piggy-back, fully adjustable in spring preload, wheelbase and hydraulic compression, and rebound damping. The 180 kg (dry) motorcycle is pulled to a stop by dual 320 mm floating steel disc with Brembo M430 radial, opposing callipers in the front and a single 220 mm disc with two-piston Brembo callipers. ABS has been sourced from Bosch and  the bike is equipped with rear wheel lift-up mitigation strategy.

The Aprilia RSV4 RF in Thailand carries a sticker price of 1,149,000 Thai baht.
