Shares Vespa 150's engine.
Economic Times Reports that the Aprilia SR150 will be launched in India in August 2016. The scooter was unveiled at the Auto Expo 2016 in Greater Noida earlier this month.
Speaking to the publication, Stefano Pelle, CEO of Piaggio India, said "Piaggio India is once again set to carve out a new category in the premium two-wheeler segment with the Aprilia SR150." The model is touted as a crossover scooter offering the features of a sport bike and the convenience of a scooter.
The Aprilia SR150 will be produced locally, at Piaggio's plant in Baramati, Maharashtra, using the same engine as on the Vespa 150. The 'sports-scooter' is powered by the 154.4 cc air-cooled single-cylinder carbureted engine with three valves, tuned to produce 11.55 PS at 7,000 rpm and 11.5 Nm at 5,500 rpm, mated to a CVT.
