ARAI certified fuel efficiency of Jawa, Jawa Forty-Two revealed
Classic Legends commenced the deliveries of Jawa motorcycles in the last week of March. The bikes are being delivered to customers who made bookings online from 15 November 2018, as per the booking sequence. All the details of the motorcycles were announced at the launch event, except the fuel economy figures.

Now, Classic Legends has finally announced the ARAI certified fuel economy rating of the Jawa Classic and the Jawa Forty-Two. Both models feature the exact same engine specifications and return 37.5 km/l.
Its direct rival, the Royal Enfield Classic 350 has an ARAI certified fuel economy rating of 37 km/l. The Royal Enfield Classic 350, for reference, uses a 346 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that makes 19.7 bhp of maximum power. ARAI fuel efficiency testing is calculated under testing conditions that are aimed to simulate the Indian Driving Cycle. The actual fuel economy number could vary.
To give you a recap, the Jawa Classic and Jawa Forty-Two draw power from a 293 cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled, DOHC engine that delivers 27 bhp of power and 28 Nm of peak torque.
Before commencing the deliveries of the motorcycles, Classic Legends inaugurated 95 Jawa Motorcycles dealerships across 77 cities in India. Classic Legends has also announced a motorcycle exchange program across all its dealerships through Mahindra First Choice Wheels where potential customers can exchange any old bike.
Classic Legends launched the Jawa and Jawa Forty-Two in India at INR 1,64,000 and INR 1,55,000 respectively. The company later introduced a Dual Channel ABS variants of the motorcycles at INR 1,72,942 and INR 1,63,942 respectively. The third motorcycle, the Perak Bobber, which was unveiled in November last year, would go on sale post-September 2019. Classic Legends announced the price of the Jawa Perak in India. The Bobber has been priced at INR 1.89 lakh.

Classic Legends auctioned 13 motorcycles to raise funds for the Indian Armed Forces, and the Chassis No.1 was sold for INR 45 lakh. In total, the company has raised INR 1.43 crore through auctions for the benefit of Indian Armed Forces.
