The Audi nanuk quattro concept made its premiere at the VW Group Night in Frankfurt last evening. According to Audi, the crossover concept merges "the dynamics of a high-performance sports car with Audi's quattro expertise on the road, on the race track and also off-road."

The 4.5m long nanuk quattro concept was designed in collaboration with Italdesign Giugiaro designers. The concept is mid-engined, and with all-wheel drive and a high ground clearance to boot, Audi say it is virtually ready for any kind of terrain.

The nanuk is powered by a V10 TDI engine mounted longitudinally ahead of the rear axle. Displacing 5.0-liters, the twin-turbo diesel engine's power output is rated at 544hp, while the torque value is 1,000Nm, accessible from just 1,500 rpm. It is coupled to a seven-speed S tronic transmission transferring drive through a Quattro all-wheel drive system.

The Audi nanuk concept tips the scales at 1,900 kilograms. It can reach 100kph from a standstill in 3.8s and achieve a max speed of 305kph. The fuel efficiency isn't bad at all, rated at 12.82 kpl.

The concept car is mounted on 22-inch alloy wheels via an adaptive air suspension system that has electronic dampers. The exterior is built using carbon-fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) and the headlamps feature the Matrix LED technology.

Inside, the nanuk Quattro concept gets a programmable instrument panel and dark aluminium finishes on the dashboard, while the seats are covered in mineral gray leather.
