Audi Q2 compact SUV - Rendering
Rumored to be priced around EUR 26,000 (INR 18.66 lakhs).
Autobild has posted a rendering of the Audi Q2 crossover (formerly called the Audi Q1), which will make its motorshow premiere at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in March. It will serve as Audi's entry level offering in their "Q" range.
Based on spyshots, the Audi Q2 in the render will feature Audi's characteristic angular design, featuring swept back LED headlamps, large octagonal grille, and a sporty front bumper. Given that it will be smaller than the Q3 but will have to give space for an even smaller model, expect its length to fall anywhere between 4.0 metres and 4.39 metres.
The Audi Q2 will be based on the MQB modular platform that supports products like the VW Golf and Audi A3. The base model could be powered by a 1.4-litre TFSI turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with cylinder deactivation technology, whereas higher models could get 2.0 TFSI and TDI engines. Transmission choices should include 6-speed manual, 6-speed S tronic and 7-speed S tronic, while a quattro AWD system could be optional in higher variants.

Following its world premiere at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in March, the Audi Q2 should go on sale in first markets in H2 2016. To open up the brand to a wider audience, Audi India, which has acknowledged the Audi Q2 as "interesting," could introduce the baby crossover in late 2016 or early 2017.
