Audi RS Q7 - IAB Rendering
Could be powered by a diesel engine.
A high performance version of the India-bound Audi Q7 will be joining the lineup in the future, reports TopGear. The report starts by stating that the company has confirmed this.
While there is no news on the launch timeframe or whether it will don the 'RS' badge, a speculative rendering of the Audi RS Q7 has been made by IAB's in-house designer Shoeb R Kalania.
The report further mentions that Audi's largest performance oriented product could be powered by a diesel engine. If it is a petrol, the 4-litre twin-turbo engine from RS6 and RS7 could be assigned duty. The engine currently makes 560 hp and 700 Nm of torque.
To cope with the added power, the Audi RS Q7 will sit lower, get a revised suspension and steering systems. Better body control, brakes, RS branded goodies, and a more aggressive design will ensure that the car justifies its status an an RS product. Additionally, the Quattro AWD system is a given.
What works in the vehicle's favour is that Audi has already done its job in making it lighter. Based on Volkswagen's MLB architecture, the 2016 Audi Q7 is lighter by up to 325 kilos in comparison to the older model.

The Audi Q7, which made its debut at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show last month is expected to reach India this year, and has been spotted testing quite a few times.
The 5.05-meter long SUV is expected to include 3-litre petrol and diesel units at the time of launch. A smaller 2-litre petrol engine and a hybrid variant will be augmented to the global line up in due course.
