Audi India to launch RS6 Avant (estate) on June 4 - IAB Report
The RS 6 Avant will be a one-of-a-kind offering when it launches.
The next launch for Audi in India will be the RS6 Avant - the performance-oriented estate version of the A6. While the estate market is non-existent in India, let alone performance-oriented estates, Audi believes the RS6 Avant will carve a niche for itself.
The RS 6 Avant is powered by the same engine used on the RS7 Sportback which was facelifted in the Indian market this week. The engine in question is a 4.0-liter V8 TFSI bi-turbo unit capable of 560 hp and 700 Nm of torque. The power is put to the road via an 8-speed tiptronic transmission and Audi's Quattro all-wheel drive system.
The result is that the RS 6 Avant accelerates to 100 km/h in a scant 3.9 seconds, matching the RS7's time. The top-speed, again like the RS7, is 305 km/h (optional, else the RS 6 Avant can be specified to top-out at 250 km/h or 280 km/h).
The sports wagon is shod with 20-inch alloy wheels (21-inch alloy wheels are an optional fitment), a RS adaptive air suspension with ride height lowered by 20 mm and Dynamic Ride Control. Inside, the RS 6 Avant gets the 'RS' spec interior upholstered in black leather with silver and red highlights.

The RS 6 Avant will be a one-of-a-kind offering in the market, as rival Mercedes-Benz offers the E63 AMG only in the sedan bodystyle.
