The BYD Yuan sub-compact crossover debuted in concept form at Auto Shanghai 2015 and went on sale last month.

The Ford EcoSport lookalike is priced from 59,900 to 2,49,800 yuan (INR 6,13,886-25,60,080) and is available with the BYD473QE 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 80 kW (107 hp) and 145 Nm of torque and the BYD476ZQA 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 113 kW (151 hp) and 240 Nm of torque as well as a petrol-electric plug-in hybrid. The latter provides a pure electric driving range of 85 km and a combined fuel economy of approximately 50 km/l.

The BYD Qin EV300 is the battery-powered variant of the BYD Qin hybrid. There's an electric motor placed on the front axle which produces 218 hp and 310 Nm of torque. A 48 kWh battery powers the electric motor and provides a driving range of 300 km on a full charge.

The BYD Qin is the successor to the BYD F3DM and was launched in 2014. The plug-in hybrid vehicle's powertrain is made of the BYD476ZQA 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 113 kW (151 hp) and 240 Nm of torque and an electric motor that generates 110 kW (147 hp) and 250 Nm of torque. Together they develop 217 kW (291 hp) and 479 Nm of torque and provide a fuel economy of 62.5 km/l. The Qin can be driven up to 70 km in pure electric mode.

BYD introduced the pure electric variant of the BYD Song at Auto China 2016. There are two electric motors, one mounted on the front axle and and other one on the rear axle. The front axle motor produces 160 kW (214 hp) and the rear axle motor produces 110 kW (147 hp). The pure electric crossover can be driven up to 270 km on a single charge.

BYD T3 EV

The BYD T3 EV is an electric panel van powered by the company's BYD2217TZB motor that generates 160 kW (214 hp) and 310 Nm of torque. There's a 42.9 kWh battery which can be fully charged in 6-13 hours using 3.3 kW AC standard charging or in just 1 hour using 40 kW DC fast charging. With the battery fully charged, the pure electric van can be driven at least 200 km if not more.

The BYD e5 300 EV is a cheaper variant of the BYD Qin EV300. The exterior and interior are slightly different due to the cost-cutting, but there's the same electric motor which produces 218 hp and 310 Nm of torque. However, in the e5 300 EV, the 48 kWh battery provides a driving range of 305 km, 5 km more compared to the Qin EV300.
