Auto Shanghai 2013 Live - 2014 Nissan Teana a.k.a Altima showcased

The 2014 Nissan Teana for the Chinese market is essentially the rebranded Nissan Altima which is sold in the US albeit with more chrome. The car, which was launched in China a few weeks ago, was one of the many vehicles that were displayed at the Auto Shanghai 2013.

The new Nissan Teana borrows cues from the Sylphy sedan. The chrome finished front grill, peeled back headlamps with a kink on the outer surfaces relate directly to the Sylphy.

The profile of the car is clean and undramatic in a typical Nissan fashion and the chrome rub strips on the doors are China specific additions. The rear too is unmistakably Nissan and the shape of the tail lamps complement the headlamps.

The interior is also same as the US spec Altima but Nissan says that the seats adopt a "zero gravity" theme. The Chinese car gets black interior. The company also claims that the rear camera has been redesigned in the Chinese Teana compared to the Altima.

At the business end of the things lies a 2.5 litre QR25DE petrol engine which delivers 182 bhp. The power is transmitted via a X-CVT automatic gearbox. The Teana will be manufactured by the Dongfeng-Nissan JV plant in Xiangyang, Hubei province of China.
