The Bajaj Avenger 220 ABS has started reaching dealerships across India. It features a single-channel ABS for competitive pricing. The similar strategy is adopted for the rest of Bajaj’s portfolio except the flagship motorcycle - the Dominar 400. The Avenger 220 ABS benefits from rear-wheel lift protection (RLP) sensor that avoids accidental stoppie as well. The styling and mechanical specifications are the same as those of the non-ABS Avenger 220.
The Avenger 220 duo is propelled by a 220 cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that develops a maximum power output of 19.03 PS at 8,400 rpm and a peak torque of 17.5 Nm at 7,000 rpm. A five-speed gearbox works in sync with the motor. Stopping power comes from a 260 mm single disc brake at the front and a 130 mm drum brake at the rear. Shock absorption tasks are performed by telescopic forks at the front and a rear mono-shock at the rear.
The next-gen Bajaj Avenger will hit the domestic market in 2020, Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Auto, revealed in an interview last year. Bajaj said:
I think in 2020, when new emission (BS-VI) norms come, that would be a great opportunity to go to market with a product that is not only much greener but also in a new avatar. In 2020, we should have an all-new range of Pulsars and Avengers.

The next-generation Bajaj Avenger range will most definitely come with the fuel-injection system to comply with the BS-VI emission norms. The next generation models, in addition to a new design, should feature a full-LED headlight and a fully digital instrument cluster.
