Bajaj Dominar 400 launched at INR 1.36 lakhs [Live]
The Bajaj Dominar 400 is the most powerful motorcycle by Bajaj yet with an output of 35 PS.
The cat is finally out of the bag. Bajaj Auto today has launched the Bajaj Dominar 400 at an ongoing press conference in New Delhi. Targeted at the youth-centric audience who want a mix of sport riding along with the comfort of a cruiser, the Bajaj Dominar 400 will be their flagship brand.
At the heart of the Bajaj Dominar 400 is a 373.3 cc single cylinder, triple spark, 4 valve DTS-i mill coupled with a 6 speed gearbox. It is capable of producing 35 PS of maximum power at 8,000 rpm and 35 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. This is the same mill seen in the KTM Duke 390 and continues to be assisted by a slipper clutch. The top speed of the Dominar is 148 km/h, and it can complete the 0-100 km/h sprint in 8.23 seconds.
The front disc is a 320 mm unit while the rear gets 230 mm (same size as the KTM Duke 390). Twin channel ABS optional. Bajaj Dominar 400 gets 110/70 profile up front and 150/60 section in the rear shod over 17 inch rims. The radial tyres have been sourced from MRF.
The bike will be available in Midnight Blue, twilight Plum and Moon White paint schemes.
The Bajaj Dominar 400 measures 2,156 mm in length, 813 mm in width and 1,112 mm in height. The wheelbase is 1,453 mm and the bike has a ground clearance of 157 mm. The bike has a kerb weight of 182 kg and its fuel tank can store 13 litre of fuel. It is also the first bike in India to have full LED mosaic headlamps with balanced white light and vertical AHO (Auto Headlamps On).
The Bajaj Dominar 400 has been priced at INR 1.36 lakhs for the standard variant and INR 1.50 lakhs for the ABS trim (both ex-showroom, Delhi). The bike will be sold via 80 showrooms across 22 towns. Test rides and display bikes will reach dealerships starting tomorrow. Online bookings have commenced and deliveries will begin in January 2017.
