Bajaj Dominar 400 matte black sales commence - Report

The Bajaj Dominar 400 was first launched in December 2016.

The Bajaj Dominar 400 is the most technology loaded Bajaj badged product yet. Deliveries of the power cruiser began in January 2017 and the bike was retailed in three colour options. A new matte black colour option has been spotted recently in dealerships and a report in Autocar India says that sales of the new colour option have commenced.

The matte black Bajaj Dominar 400 will not be a limited edition and will remain mechanically be the same.

The three original colour options for the Bajaj Dominar 400 include Moon White, Twilight Plum and Midnight Blue. The matte black colour will not be a limited edition option. The report also cites Bajaj dealers who have revealed that the matte black version will be priced around INR 4,000 more than the existing colour options.

Bajaj Auto, at the media ride of the Bajaj Dominar 400 confirmed that the bike gets a premium quality of paint. The new matte black colour option can be expected to be of a similar quality level. The new colour option may also help pull the sales volumes up which had fallen to 1,500 units in May 2017.

The Bajaj Dominar 400 gets a slipper clutch, LED headlamp, reverse backlit LCD instrumentation and disc brakes at both ends as standard. The bike also gets optional, dual-channel ABS. The bike has been subsequently launched in Nepal and Turkey and will be available in Mexico soon.

The Bajaj Dominar 400 is the first made in India bike to get a LED headlamp.

The Bajaj Dominar 400 is priced at present at INR 139,000 for the non-ABS trim and INR 153,001 for the ABS version (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
