Russia has received a special edition Bajaj Dominar 400. The motorcycle is sold in green paint with a combination of contrasting black panels and rides on gold coloured alloy wheels. The colour combination of green and black is identical to the rest of the colour options on the motorcycle that the two-wheeler brand sells elsewhere. It has been priced at 280,000 rubles (approximately INR 3.13 lakh).

The Special edition Bajaj Dominar 400 was launched in Russia for 280,000 rubles. The India launch of the new colour option is not likely to happen.

The special edition Dominar 400 is currently available in Russia and there are no comments from Bajaj or reports that suggest that the colour option will arrive in the Indian market.

East West Motors, the official Russian distributor suggests in the press release that the limited edition Dominar 400 celebrates Bajaj's partnership with Kawasaki. It is to be noted that Bajaj Auto and Kawasaki ended their partnership in India on April 1, 2017.

Apart from the Kawasaki-inspired paint job, every other specification remains identical to the standard Dominar 400. Thus, you would find full LED lighting, muscular fuel tank with shrouds and split seat setup. Conventional, 43 mm telescopic front forks and a monoshock at the rear perform suspension duties.

The limited-run Bajaj Dominar 400 uses the familiar 373cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that delivers 35 PS of maximum power at 8,000 rpm and 35 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. This engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. A 320 mm single disc brake at the front and a 230 mm single disc at the rear provide the stopping power, and the safety net is enhanced by a dual-channel ABS.

In related news, Bajaj is testing an updated Dominar 400 on the Indian roads. The motorcycle was seen on two different occasions with absolutely no camouflage to cover any details. The updated models, as seen in the spy images, features uupside-downtelescopic front forks and a revised design for the exhaust. The dual tone paint combination has also been revised for a refreshed look.

The visual changes may be accompanied by an updated engine that will comply with the BS-VI emission norms that are scheduled to come into effect in 2020. Thus, the mechanical specifications may differ marginally from the current generation motorcycle.

The new paint is accompanied by gold coloured alloy wheels that are standard on the new 2018 Dominar 400 range. The motorcycle features dual-channel ABS.

The updated Dominar 400 may not be too far away as Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, Bajaj Auto confirmed in an interview recently that the company is "now going to market new Dominars." While Bajaj did not mention a specific timeline, we should hear some more details during the peak of the festive season, by sometime next month.
