The Bajaj Dominar 400 is one of the most value-for-money performance motorcycles in the Indian market. But the experience on the current model is somewhat compromised due to vibrations. The updated 2019 model will be more refined than the outgoing variant, but there’s a cheaper alternative – the vibration reduction kit.

The kit is claimed to filter some of the vibrations and enhance the ride experience. It gets better as Bajaj is offering the package free. The equipment is being installed by the Bajaj service centre on all Dominar 400 motorcycles. The YouTuber claims that there are no vibration issues on his own bike after the installation. The kit is aimed to reduce vibrations from the fibre cover on the tank, and the seat.

In more updates, Bajaj Auto is preparing to introduce the 2019 Dominar 400. A report from earlier this month claimed that the 2019 model will arrive with a BS-VI compliant motor and will be more refined than the model it replaces. The performance numbers are currently talk of the town. Some reports claim that the 2019 model will come with higher power figures than the outgoing Dominar 400 while others say that it will receive no upgrade here.

The 373 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine on the current model delivers 35 PS of power and 35 Nm of peak torque. The engine sends power via a six-speed transmission and features a slipper clutch.

Other updates on the 2019 model will include a new suspension setup, featuring upside-down telescopic forks at the front instead of conventional units from the current model. A monoshock would continue to perform the shock absorption tasks at the rear. Anchoring tasks would be performed by a 320mm disc at the front and a 220mm disc at the back while the safety net of dual-channel ABS will be available as standard. Bajaj Auto has discontinued the non-ABS of the Dominar 400.

The vibration reduction kit is being offered to Bajaj Dominar 400 owners for free. The kit is aimed to reduce vibrations from the tank and saddle.

Expect the new model to carry a premium of INR 20,000 over the current ABS equipped motorcycle’s INR 1.63 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) price.
