Rajiv Bajaj expects Bajaj Kratos 400 to sell 10,000 units a month
Expected to launch next month.
Speaking to The Hindu BusinessLine about their future products, Mr. Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, Bajaj Auto, also spoke about the forthcoming Bajaj Kratos VS400 sportsbike. Talking about the motorcycle's sales expectations, he said -
It is my conviction that the new bike planned has the capability of posting five-digit volumes each month.
Aside from the Kratos VS400, Bajaj Auto also plans on launching an entry-segment bike, a commuter bike along the lines of the Bajaj V and updates for the Bajaj Pulsar variants. With these launches, Bajaj Auto targets a 24 percent market share in motorcycles by the end of this fiscal.
The Bajaj Kratos VS400 will have its market launch in November 2016, as stated by Mr. Rajiv Bajaj in an earlier interview. The Bajaj Kratos VS400 is expected to cost in the whereabouts of INR 1.6-1.7 lakhs, ex-Showroom, and will be an alternative to a Royal Enfield product, but not a direct competitor, Mr. Bajaj stated in the past interview. The Kratos VS400 would rival the Royal Enfield Himalayan on price. For reference, the Himalayan is priced at INR 1.56 lakhs, ex-Showroom, New Delhi.
