Report - Bajaj readying Bajaj Pulsar 150 facelift
The Bajaj Pulsar 150 is all set to receive a facelift in the coming months.
According to a report on Autocar Professional, the iconic 150 cc two-wheeler will soon get a cosmetic upgrade. The report also states that some work has been undertaken by Bajaj on improving the bike's rideability.
In a recent interview during the launch of the new Bajaj Discover 125, Bajaj’s GM (East) Prasad Vaze said that with that model, the company's 100 cc and 125 cc offerings were put on a pause, hinting that future launches would be on higher categories and the Pulsar 150 is a prime candidate.
The Pulsar 150 was first launched way back in 2001 and got a substantial upgrade in 2002-03, in the form of a twin-spark engine. Towards the middle of the decade, the bike received cosmetic updates and a cowl.
The Pulsar 150, at present, competes against the likes of the Honda CB Trigger, Yamaha FZ-S, FZ-16 and the Fazer and Hero's Achiever, Hunk and CBZ Xtreme.
Hero Motocorp is presently lining up to launch the Xtreme Sports, Suzuki on the Gixxer - which is slated to be launched in June/July - Mahindra working on its own Pulsar-rival which is set to get a 160 cc powerplant and TVS working on the Victor, it is imperative that a bigger player like Bajaj throws its hat into the ring.
