Bajaj Pulsar 160NS with 15.5 PS & 14.6 Nm unveiled in Turkey
The Bajaj Pulsar 160NS is less powerful than the Pulsar 150NS.
At an event yesterday, Bajaj Auto unveiled the Bajaj Pulsar 160NS at an event in Turkey. This move comes as a surprise for many as Bajaj was expected to rework the existing Pulsar 150NS to meet the newer Euro 4 emission norms. The Pulsar 160NS loses out on peak power but is considerably lighter.
Housed inside the familiar perimeter frame is a 160.3 cc oil cooled mill coupled to a 5-speed gearbox. The engine is capable of producing 15.5 PS of maximum power at 8,500 rpm and 14.6 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. That’s a drop from the 17 PS power output of the Pulsar 150NS. The torque figure in the 150NS stands at just 13 Nm.
The Bajaj Pulsar 160NS tips the scales at 135 kg making it 5 kg lighter than the 150NS. The bike gets disc brakes all around and ABS as an option in the front wheel. A non-ABS rear drum and brake setup is also available. The Bajaj Pulsar 160NS is fitted with 17-inch wheels with 100/80 specification tyre up front and 110/70 in the rear. Both front and rear get wider tyres than the 150NS.
The design philosophy of the Bajaj Pulsar 160NS is the same as that of the Bajaj Pulsar 200NS and Pulsar 150NS. Bajaj may launch this motorcycle in India in 2017, but there is no official word.
