IAB Report - Bajaj Pulsar 200NS FI variant available in Turkey
Bajaj Auto’s website for Turkey has listed out details on the fuel-injected Pulsar 200NS variant. The Pulsar 200NS FI is identical to the existing 200NS, except for the fact that it uses a fuel injection system from the KTM 200 Duke, in place of a carburetor.
The Pulsar 200 NS is powered by a 199.5cc, four-valve, triple spark plug engine. It produces 23.52 PS @ 9,500 RPM and 18.3 Nm @ 8,000 RPM.
While power and torque figures are the same for both versions, the FI variant's top speed is quoted at 136 kph compared to 135 kph for the carburetted Pulsar. There are no visual changes on the bikes, leaving out the lack of a fuel reserve knob.
Bajaj offered fuel injection on the Pulsar 220 during its launch in 2007 but eventually discontinued the technology to lower the price and to solve the issue of technicians unable to service or repair them properly.
In recent years, Bajaj has sold fuel injected bikes through the KTM and Kawasaki umbrellas, serviced by Bajaj technicians, and we see no reason why they should prolong keeping this technology from out of reach of the Indian biker.
