Indian Autos Blog reader, Mr. Afroz Jaffri, has spied the Bajaj Pulsar CS400 up-close on one of its test runs. As stated in recent reports, the most capable and powerful Pulsar yet is expected to have its market launch in the July-September period this year. In a newspaper interview, Bajaj Auto President (Business Development & Assurance), S Ravikumar, confirmed that a new Pulsar will launch in the third quarter of this year.

The spyshot, which shows a Red test mule, reveals a design resemblant of the Pulsar CS400 shown at the Auto Expo 2014. The headlight cluster, though sharply cut, is devoid of a projector lens element, while the front suspension on the production motorcycle is a conventional telescopic unit and not the upside-down fork seen on the concept.

The Bajaj Pulsar CS400 is expected to source power from the KTM Duke 390's 375 cc single-cylinder engine, though this unit is also expected to get Bajaj's triple-spark technology. Developing 44 PS and 35 Nm on the Duke 390, this engine will be paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Braking power, as seen in the spyshot, will come from front and rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS.
