Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 rear disc variant spied [Video]
Bajaj Auto is set to launch the Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 rear disc variant, as the variant has been spotted at a dealership courtesy YouTuber Shivansh Batham. A report from 27 July suggested that Bajaj is also developing a Pulsar NS 160 ABS variant, which is likely to launch in October.
That said, the Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 rear disc model features new 5-spoke alloy wheels similar to the ones found on the Pulsar 150. The rear rotor is likely a 230 mm unit, while the 240 mm front disc is carried over. However, this Pulsar NS 160 rear disc variant misses out on ABS. The addition of rear disc will help the motorcycle to better compete with the likes of Suzuki Gixxer, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Honda CB Hornet 160R and the Yamaha FZ-S.
A perimeter frame from the Pulsar NS 200 underpins the Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 that uses the engine as a stressed member. The motorcycle is shod with telescopic front forks and a piggyback gas-charged nitrox mono-shock at the rear. The Pulsar NS 160 is the only bike in its segment to feature a perimeter frame, while it comes with 17-inch alloy wheels that sport 80-section front and 110-section rear MRF tubeless tires.
Powering the Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 is a 160.3 cc, four-valve, single-cylinder engine with Digital Triple-Spark Ignition system. The oil-cooled motor is capable of generating a maximum power of 15.5 PS at 8,500 rpm along with a peak torque of 14.6 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The engine pairs to a 5-speed gearbox that relays power to the wheels. The Pulsar NS 160 has a kerb weight of 142 kg, while the fuel tank capacity stands at 12 litres.

The design of the Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 is identical to the Pulsar NS 200, with the muscular fuel tank, sleek tail section, bikini fairing, and an under-belly exhaust system. Braking force on the standard model comes from 240 mm front disc, while the rear gets 130 mm drum brake setup. With the standard model priced at INR 82,624 (ex-showroom Delhi), we can expect the Pulsar NS 160 rear disc variant to retail at around INR 85,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).
