ABS and non-ABS variants to contribute equally towards sales.

Bajaj Auto is targeting sales of 2,500 units each month for its newly-launched Pulsar RS200. The RS200, or the Race Sport 200, was introduced in the Indian market yesterday at INR 1.18 lakhs for the non-ABS variant and INR 1.3 lakhs for the ABS-equipped version, ex-Showroom, New Delhi. The company is expecting both variants to contribute equally.

The RS200 gets a fuel-injected engine developing 24.5 PS.

The RS200's sports-motorcycles segment accounts for only 1 percent of total industry sales, yet the Pulsar brand is sitting on a 43 percent market share in this segment.

Billed as the fastest Pulsar yet, the RS200 has a claimed top-speed of 141 km/h. The RS200 also has bragging rights for being the first Pulsar to offer an ABS system, a Bosch-made single-channel unit.

Power comes from a fuel-injected 199.5 cc single-cylinder engine capable of 24.5 PS at 9,750 rpm and 18.6 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm, matched to a 6-speed transmission.

Twin projector headlights, LED taillights and a part digital cluster are standard features on the motorcycle.

Built on a high-stiffness Perimeter frame, the RS200 offers a 300 mm disc up front (largest in the segment) and a 230 mm disc at the rear. Other features on the motorcycle include twin-projector headlights, LED taillights, a race exhaust system and a semi-digital instrument cluster.
