Expected to launch this financial year.

Indian Autos Blog reader, Shivam, has sent us pictures of a production ready Bajaj Pulsar RS400, which is believed to be spotted at a service station.

The Bajaj Pulsar RS400 is expected to borrow its engine from the KTM Duke 390.

Rajiv Bajaj, managing director of Bajaj Auto, has stated in a previous interview that the Bajaj Pulsar 400 will be launched in the country "some point in this financial year". Showcased at the Auto Expo 2014 in two versions - Bajaj Pulsar SS400 and Bajaj Pulsar CS400 - it will be the new flagship of the Pulsar brand.

In images, the Pulsar RS400 looks exactly like a RS200 with the only giveaway being the 'RS400' stickers. It even gets similar dual projector headlights, web-spoked alloy wheels, and the split LED taillights that are seen on the RS200. The ABS sticker on the front mudguard confirms the feature, which could be provided as a standard fitment given the increased displacement.

ABS could be a standard fitment on the Pulsar RS400.

Speaking of displacement, the RS400 is likely to inherit its engine from the KTM Duke 390, which sports a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder 373.2 cc engine developing 43.5 PS at 9,000 rpm and 35 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm, paired to a 6-speed gearbox.

Upon launch the Pulsar RS400 could undercut the KTM RC390 in price, which costs INR 2.1 lakhs, ex-Showroom, Mumbai.
