Bajaj to replace the Bajaj Avenger 150 with a 180cc variant - Report
Thrustzone reports that Bajaj Auto will be replacing its entry-level cruiser, the Bajaj Avenger 150 with the Avenger 180 in February.
As per the website’s sources, the new bike will get a host of features to make the bike more competitive in the market. The 2018 Bajaj Avenger 180 will reportedly come with a 180 cc single cylinder mill with air and oil cooling. As per the website, the output figures are likely to be around 15- 16 bhp of power, and 14-15 Nm of torque. Sources state that the bike may come with a single-channel ABS at least as an option.

The current generation Bajaj Avenger 150 employs a 150cc DTS-I engine. It puts out 14.54 PS at 9,000 rpm, and 12.5 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The engine mates with a 5-speed transmission. Cycle parts include telescopic front fork and twin rear shock absorbers. For anchorage, the bike employs 240 mm front disc, and a 130 mm rear drum.
It was reported in December that the 2018 Bajaj Avenger 220 will be updated with new features, including a single-channel ABS. The current generation Avenger 150 costs INR 81,549, ex-showroom, Delhi. The Suzuki Intruder 150 is its only competitor in the 150cc cruiser segment. Expect more details about the upcoming bike in the weeks ahead.
