Bajaj V 15 has sold more than 2 lakh units since launch.

After the surprise confirmation of the Bajaj V12 at a recent press conference, Bajaj Auto has silently launched the Bajaj V12. The bike nearly resembles the Bajaj V15, save for some small cost-saving changes.

Bajaj has launched the Bajaj V12 at INR 56,28 which is more than INR 5,000 more expensive than the disc brake fitted Bajaj Discover 125.

The USP of the Bajaj V12 is the usage of metal sourced from the INS Vikrant, independent India’s first aircraft carrier. The bike is suspended over slightly thinner telescopic forks up front as against the 33 mm ones seen in the V15. The tyres too are of a lower grade and are tube based ones, and the headlamp houses a 35 watt DC unit instead of the 55 watt bulb seen in the bigger Bajaj V.

The powertrain is a 124.5 cc single cylinder, air cooled, DTS-i mill which has been possibly borrowed from the Bajaj Discover 125. The engine is capable of producing 10.7 PS of maximum power at 7,500 rpm and 10.98 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. Unlike the Bajaj V15, the Bajaj V12 gets a 130 mm drum setup at both ends. Disc brake is not available even as an option.

The Bajaj V12 measures 2,040 mm in length, 785 mm in width and 1,066 mm in height. The wheelbase remains the same 1,315 mm. The rubber cover on the front suspension seen in the spy pictures though is absent in the studio image.
