The spy shot shows that the Baojun CN210S follows the design theme set by the Baojun 510 in 2016. The new model features a large hexagonal grille, a feature ubiquitous among SUVs globally, ultra-slim headlamps and squarish wheel arches. Teasers show that it will have connected tail lights, a characteristic observed on luxury vehicles.

Baojun has built the CN210S on a new platform, which it will utilise for car and MPV models in the future. Specifications aren’t out yet. Reports say that the new SUV uses the N15T (1.5L turbo) engine married to a dual-clutch transmission and that it has an independent rear suspension. It’s a five-seater.

Baojun is a SAIC-GM-Wuling brand for low-cost models that was launched in 2011. In India, the Chinese brand will enter indirectly through SAIC’s MG brand. Reports say that the company will launch a Baojun 530-based SUV as its first model in the country in the second quarter of 2019.

SAIC plans to re-engineer the Baojun 530 extensively for India and restyle to give it all MG traits. The company is expected to offer the C-SUV with an FCA-sourced 2.0-litre diesel engine. Production will take place at the Halol plant which was formerly owned by General Motors.
